First Steps Pistol Cost: $75.00

COURSE GOAL:
To provide beginning shooters with an introduction to the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to own and use a specific pistol model safely.

LENGTH OF ORIENTATION: 3 hours for single student (time increases with additional students).

STUDENT TEXT:
The Basics of Pistol Shooting Handbook

ORIENTATION LESSONS:
Lesson I - Introduction to pistol safety, parts, and operation.
Lesson II - Introduction to ammunition and fundamentals of pistol shooting.
Lesson III - Introduction to pistol shooting from a benchrest position.
Lesson IV - Introduction to pistol cleaning, storage, and transportation.

CLASSROOM:
2 hours - Lessons I, II, and IV

NO LIVE AMMUNITION IN THE CLASSROOM

Student should bring their UNLOADED pistol locked in a case with the owners manual.

RANGE:
1 hour - Lesson III

The student's pistol must be brought to the range unloaded in a locked case. At least 100 rounds of the correct ammunition should be brought in a separate container.

Students should bring eye and ear protection, and dress appropriately for the range. No open toe shoes, no loose clothing. Ball caps are also a recommended item.
